Campaigns
A campaign is a push notification you write yourself — for example an announcement or a promotion — sent to your own subscribers. You choose the message, the audience and the timing, then measure how it performed.
Create a campaign
- Go to Campaigns and click New campaign.
- Give it a Campaign name and choose the Placement whose subscribers should receive it. The placement can't be changed after the campaign is created.
- Write the message: title, body, the landing URL that opens when someone clicks, and optionally an icon and image.
- Optionally add more Variants to test different messages. Each variant has a Weight that controls how often it's used compared to the others.
- Choose your audience (see below). The estimate shows how many recipients match.
- Choose When to send (see below) and save.
Tip: send yourself a test from the campaign form to see exactly how the notification looks before it goes out. Test sends don't count in your reports.
Audience
Narrow down who receives the campaign by any combination of country, region, browser, operating system, device type and how recently subscribers were seen. A subscriber must match every filter you set.
When to send
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| Send now | Goes out as soon as you create it. |
| One time | Pick a single date and time. |
| Recurring | Repeats on a daily or weekly Repeat schedule you set. |
For One time campaigns you also choose the timezone behavior:
- One moment for everyone (absolute time) — everyone receives it at the same moment.
- Each recipient's local time — pick a Local time of day; each subscriber receives it at that time in their own timezone, so the send rolls out across timezones through the day.
Recurring campaigns follow your placement's timezone. You can stop them after a number of sends or on an end date — leave both empty to repeat until you pause the campaign.
Pausing and editing
- A recurring campaign can be paused and resumed from the campaigns list. Pause it before editing it.
- A one-time campaign can be edited until it starts sending.
Measure the results
Click Analytics on a campaign to see how it did: notifications shown, clicks and click rate, broken down by variant and more.
Good to know
- Campaigns are for push notifications only.
- Your placement's send rules still protect subscribers from receiving too many notifications.
- UTM tracking: turn on Append UTM parameters to landing URLs to tag campaign clicks for your own analytics tool.
