In-page notifications

In-page notifications are ad cards that look like push notifications but appear inside your page, in a corner of the screen, while the visitor is browsing. Visitors don't need to subscribe to see them, so they're a good way to earn from people who can't or won't allow push notifications.

How it works

When in-page notifications are on, dlserve shows up to a set number of cards at once in the corner you choose. Cards can rotate: every few seconds the oldest card is replaced with a new ad. If no ad is available at that moment, nothing changes until the next refresh.

There are two modes:

  • Fallback only — non-subscribers: cards are shown only to visitors who can't or won't subscribe to push (their browser doesn't support it, or they declined). Your push subscribers don't see them.
  • Always — all visitors: cards are shown to everyone, including push subscribers.

Set it up

  1. Go to Placements and click Edit on your placement.
  2. Open the Ad formats tab and choose In-page push.
  3. Turn on Enable inpage push.
  4. Pick a Mode and adjust the settings below.
  5. Click Save changes.

Changes reach your site within a few minutes.

Good to know

  • Visible at once vs. how often: Max notifications controls how many cards are on screen together; Refresh interval controls how often a new one replaces the oldest.
  • The limit is per page view: when a visitor opens another page, the count starts again.
  • Web only: in-page notifications aren't available for Android app placements.
  • Your in-page results appear in reports as Inpage shown, Inpage clicked and Inpage rev.
